Previous thread: >>958 Other thread got locked, so starting a new one up to fix that. Post up any drawings you finished or are working on, /kemono/!
some things that didn't work out, and i am not sure why i'll keep an eye out for 2019's fourth drawthread
>>5926 that second drawing is really good
I locked the other thread accidentally yesterday, my mistake, please return to the previous thread for now. Never mind, the old thread is getting too big, so it can be shelved and we can switch to this one.
i drew *a beaver showing its beaver* >>5927 thanks anon, have this
>>5940 I challenge you to make buck teeth look sexy
Looking for a quick request.
>>5943 draw toei puss in boots
>>5945 Sorry about taking so long, I fell asleep.
>>5949 very cute, thank you anon
>>5941 i guess i tried this time… i may try to get some more going
>>5951 Pretty cute. You draw a lot like crookedtrees, cassetterecorder, or whatever he goes by these days.
>>5954 i like their art a lot, i want to figure out how my favortie artists do stuff. right now art wise i am pretty much going nowhere so this is what i try to make at the moment this is from when i actually tried to go for a more kemono style.
>>5956 The hips seem a bit disproportionate.
>>5957 they indeed are. it's an old drawing from over a year ago in this caae
>>5956 This isn't how I normally draw either. I can't think of a particular artist I've wanted to draw like, but it sounds like it'd be nice to have a clear direction like that.
>>5954 oh god, that is too thick
>>5959 That snout though
>>5910 do you have a tumblr?
>>5959 oh dang, Pienji it's been a while since I've seen your stuff
idk what to say about this but I really like the sketch
I am >>5381 in the previous thread. I'm trying to draw more but i feel like my motivation is lacking. Comics, animation, whatever takes too long and i don't see the point in completing it. I'm making a kemono artbook this summer with some artists though so i hope it'll turn out to be something cool.
>>6067 Hey I recognize that style, I follow you on pixiv. What a small world it is. Good luck on your collaboration.
Quick question to everyone here: How do you draw cat snouts/faces? Whenever i try it always end up too dog-like.
>>6135 …don't draw them at all? Neko-kems predominately rely on facial markings, whiskers, and the like to make the relatively flat face look feline.
>>6067 Projects take super long, but they help loads in art improvement than normal grindin/studying and it also looks good in portfolios. I noticed that it helped you a lot, so I'm going to do the same as well. Even if I don't finish it or if I'm not confident with my ideas.
I'm not too experienced, but I gotta love what I did 'ere.
found this old one i made over a year ago haven't improved ever since at all, in fact i think i have stagnated quite a bit >>6219 that's the spirit, mang
>>6144 Sorry for taking over a week to return, but what about side views? i always end up having to work a different pose. Either way, thanks for the quick advice. Regardless, here's something i drew before (never shared my own stuff here before).
>>6220 I think I remember your stuff before, you did the goat artwork on /furry/? I liked your style
>>6236 >you did the goat artwork on /furry/? nah.
How do you find ideas for what to draw? I sometimes go browse art in DA and sort by newest, and then draw characters that seem like they'd be fun to draw. "digital art > drawings > animals", and "anthro" are both good categories to browse for that.
>>6366 I love that face.
>>6221 I like the way how you draw fists and axes, it looks pretty naisu. Here's a sorceressbold.
I haven't posted any of my drawings here in a while.
>>6483 Thanks man. Cute magicbold there too, i like the (seemingly) slightly crumpled pointy hat. >>6490 Nice work on that cat's outfit, i like the details on the shirt and skirt.
>>6494 Updated version I forgot to post.
Could anyone please draw this sweet young fluff?
Does that one Lamb Anon still post here? I been looking for him for over a year now. He disappeared without a trace, and I hope he is okay
I didn't know there was a kemono board. testing stuff
Bah, I will just leave this request here. I am looking for the artist who made this drawing. I spoke with him a year ago on a messenger program, but I haven't heard from him for a year. If you still browse these threads, or if anyone knows where he is, please give me a heads up I know this is pretty pathetic/embarrassing from my part, but I have been worried sick about him for like a year. I just want to know if everything is alright on his end.
>>6785 >>6904 [a]this is not a request thread[/a]
>>6905 I apologize, sorry.
>>6901 Thanks for showing up here to post this. I really like this one to and I'd love to see more.
>>6901 That looks really cute. I am looking forward to seeing more of your art.
>>6912 >>6914 Glad you liked. and as I said in another thread I'm not a kemono artist I'm just drawing this for fun, this one is like the 5th kemono drawing I've made in my life so far. Now I realize that I have no idea about animals.
>>6918 You captured the style. Well done.
>>6918 Well you managed to nail it pretty well for a first timer. I hope you continue.
>>6901 >>6918 MediBang, that's interesting. I have a friend who uses it, too. I tried it out before but it didn't handle the HSL filter correctly so I had to drop it because I use that to check lightness on my drawings all the time.
>>6921 >>6922 tbh some things doesn't seem complicated at first sight. a little of practice should be enough. anyway these are sketches so it feels like cheating in some way. >>6928 it's a fast and free software. very good for sketches and doing manga stuff. but when it comes to colors you're are going to need something better.
I Tried.
>>6929 Funny thing since my friend uses it to color. She uses it because it has more features than SAI, of course she only does cel-shading so it's not like she'll run into the problems that I would. >>6970 Very cute, keep at it!
>>6929 This could be the birth of a new kemono artist. Getting the aesthetic down is tricky.
I havent tried to progress with anything other than making a bunch of lines. I just draw for pleasure at this point.
>>6977 Looking a bit like ancient Egypt there. You should learn perspective.
>>6987 not sure what you said. ESL, sorry. but if by cancer you mean the American furry style. then thanks. I hate that thing. anyway this was painted with medibang. I'm not that good at painting and these fussy brushes are not my style. I'm more into cellshading. also I think I'll stop now. I was just trying this kemono thing.
>>6998 This will sound pretty hypocritical after everything that's been said, but I think your art is pretty damn good and fits the kemono style pretty well. Do you post your work anywhere?
>>7012 don't worry and thanks.
>>6173 i've had an idea lately, actually. because i have commitment issues with large projects, maybe it would work better doing shorter / smaller / "looser" projects? then i started thinking about making a non linear webcomic. i dont know, though. maybe it's just gonna be yet another idea down the trash. >>6901 >>6219 >>6928 this looks nice.
Did I miss some drama?
>>7023 Just a bit more of the floating Kemono vs. Furry flaming. (Not too bothered about it being cleaned up, speaking as one of the participants..) "I hate Furries" "But you're acting like one."
>>7022 A webcomic would be pretty cool. Are there any existing kemono webcomics in English?
>>7033 >in English Don't think so
>>6985 Thank you for your feedback! :) I'll make that a goal for the month.
>>7034 Twokinds is as close as I got, but it's not great tbh, especially the beginning is absolute trash imo.
>>6490 me again
>>7123 >digitigrade legs >but wearing normal shoes Why?
A little pose thing…
What resources do you guys use to draw kemono style?
>>7131 other artists and sometimes anime screenshots. i mostly just experiment on my own. >>7033 the only one i can think of is hino's artborn, don't know if it's kemono enough though.
>>7127 nah the shoes are a lot shorter
>>7131 I look at art that I like and incorporate parts of it to my own style / visual library. Sometimes I even spend time studying an image just so I could figure out what makes it so appealing to me.
>>7022 Go for it, I dig your stuff. >>7033 Like a english fan site in the style? Here's an oldie. http://kemonoart.org/
>>7134 >>7138 Okay, I'm trying to work more on this cat OC of mine but I'm still stuck on the head and getting the nose right.
>>6970 who dat?
How should I handle drawing footwear on digitigrade feet? I feel like putting the heel at the ball of the foot would look weird (and get me comments like "You don't understand animal feet") but putting say, a tall spike or something at the actual heel isn't much better. I especially like to draw cute buns so I draw the heel way up there. Is it all socks and footwraps?
>>7205 Don't? Most artists I see just make them bare foot And I like it more because the paw pads are cute
>>7205 You rarely see shoes on that kind of legs, usually the shoes resemble sandals or socks. I've seen shoe designs that have a shape at the front that resembles a very short foot, it works pretty well to give an illusion of a foot even when there clearly isn't one.
>>7206 I was mostly thinking up a cute winter outfit and it seems weird for anything anthropomorphized and wearing clothes to not wear boots of some kind in the snow. Shit's cold, even with fur. unfortunately buns don't have pads anyway, though I agree >>7207 Thanks, this actually helps a lot.
>>7205 You could try to get some inspiration from this thread. >>>/fur/3922
>>6970 That rabbit needs a carrot.
>>7205 >>7208 Rabbits are technically plantigrade, though I think they look cuter when drawn digitgrade like Odin Sphere's pookas. >>>7206 and >>7207 have the right idea. No shoes and toeless shoes are very common in more animal-like settings/designs. Shoes with very short feet are more common in human-like settings/designs. And in the most humanoid designs, artists usually say fuck it and drawn human-proportioned feet/shoes. High heels are a perfect fit for digitgrade feet, so maybe some kind of high boots would work for your winter outfit. A heel can be easily worked into most women's footwear, but it would probably look too feminine for your male designs.
Also, I'm a bit reluctant to link to her with all the /fur/fags floating around here recently, but yagichan @s1120411 draws lots of adorable kemono fashion designs you could get inspired by.
>>7219 It seems to have slowed down since /fur/ now won the attention hungry games. And man those are cute.
>>7218 >like Odin Sphere's pookas. A man of taste I see. >>7219 I love the traditional clothing on kemos, although his/her art isn't really relevant since I've never seen him draw digitigrade feet.
Polite sage for somewhat off-topic, and some more traditionally clothed kemogirls for your viewing pleasure. >>7220 I hope so. I'd rather turn weebs to the kemono side than recruit existing furfags. Maybe Made in Abyss will generate some interest when Nanachi shows up. >>7221 The leg structure isn't digitgrade, but the shoe designs are inspired by it (small feet, often high shoe or sock parts) and I think they would work well on a digitgrade kemo with some modifications.
>>7219 >a bit reluctant [..] Not in the least because Yagi-chan has taken to doing Donutsteels for Westerners for easy cash… and has stopped doing the more involved projects like they artist used to. :/
>>7225 What? I haven't seen any OCs, proofs?
Here is some height size and its legwears for these kemono characters
>>7205 something like pic related?
>>7225 What projects?
>>7226 Hurr, how about the pics in this thread that have the commisson-ee's name on them. >>7225 Well, the merchandising of the Goat+Wolf 4koma/twitter pics–it might just be the idea has run its course, but Yagi hasn't done anything like it in the year since– it'sbeen all 'white background' stuff that Tumblr/Twitter loves.
good board, thought there would be requests in this thread. Posting some of my stuff then
>>7325 Did you draw this all by yourself?
>>7328 yes I drew them
>>7329 Neat. Do you have a website?
>>7329 >Elh I see you're a man of culture as well
>>7329 >>7325 Cute. Both you and >>6998 get the kemono style really well. >thought there would be requests in this thread Well if you have to ask. Seeing some more art of the Siths would be nice. Maybe both of them cuddling?
>>7332 kinda
>>7361 I like it.
>>7361 I love it.
>>7361 I love you for this artwork
>>7361 NICE.
>>6366 I open my mind, and ideas come pouring in. They always do. It's the DRAWING part that can feel like a chore for a doubtful person like me. >>7134 Is that an original idea, or a reference? ARTistic either way.
>>7123
>>7528 That looks pretty comfy.
>>7541 thanks
>>6067 here again for my bi-annual update. haven't been drawing as much as i'd like to, but i'm trying. still have issues with motivation but i sometimes have bursts of inspiration. have an animation wip i'm working on >>7406 it's an original idea.
I still have to test out inking I want to improve my inking so much.
>>7802
>>7528
hopping on trends
>>7827
Claw and Robin Hood fighting back to back. Just a quick sketch because I do not know how to do much better and because my pens are not working. God bless you!
>>8163
>>8518 rushed thing for valentine's with my friends
>>7361 if someone could add decent color to this, i would probably change the background on my phone, also masturbate furiously.
>>8534 is anyone else still alive
>>8675 Yes.
>>8676 nice
I would want to learn how to draw Kemono. Any tips on how?
>>8904 they're not that different from regular western furries except: - either a much smaller or tapered snout - usually bigger eyes, slightly further down the head and eyes further apart - usually a bit more animal in them instead of just "recolored human with animal head" - no glowing dog cocks
>>8905 lmao about the dog dick but thanks for the advice. i can probably study some artist
>>8886 haven't posted here in a while
>>9391
Anyone here still draw?
>>8904 Adding to >>8905 : Difference between Kemono and USA furry is as much as difference between Manga and American cartoons. Essentially, draw the animal as if it was drawn for Japanese cartoon. Although, when going for Kemono, Japan usually give them a more Beast-like feels, compared to the west's human-like natures.
>>9896 yes
>>5949 oh god you have skill Can you draw gay pic of him ?
