What is this?
This is an archive of the /kemono/ board from 8chan aka 8kun, taken in November of 2020, before the images on 8chan/kun were removed.
Is everything archived?
No, some images and one thread (the feral thread) are missing or broken, the archive has been merged with an older one that had more images in it to create a more complete version of the board, however there are still some missing files. Also, video files, such as .webms and .mp4s are omitted from the archive, their thumbnails are visible however the video file was not saved by the archiver.
There are a lot of thumbnails that are broken.
Some images have broken thumbnails, however the underlying image is still present in the files. Try clicking the broken thumbnail anyway, it usally will load the full file/image, if you get a 404 or an error saying the address couldn't be found, the file is likely not in the archive.
What software was used to archive?
The archive was made with the software HTTrack Website Copier.
Missing thumbnails were re-generated for whichever files were available, however there are still file-less thumbnails, as well as entirely missing files.
The archive board is read-only, but you can cross-quote it from the main board using the usual >>>/ruins/895 syntax. So if you have or can find the missing content, be it files, posts or the dead external links' contents, you can mention it on the main >>>/kemono/ board.
