Thread for Various Kemono-related manga, manhwa and manhua, both long-running serialized comics and independent short comics.

Related links:
BakaUpdates: Anthropomorphism Animal Characteristic/s (the kemmonomimi tag, but features some mistagged kemonos)
 MangaDex: Animals

Software:
 Mihon.app (Previously known as Tachiyomi)
A convenient android manga reader with many convenient features, among which is an ability to automatically track and download manga from thousands of websites using custom extensions.
  * For legal reasons, the downloading functionality was removed from the main app, but restored in all of its many forks, and the extensions themselves are now hosted on independent repositories, such as Keyoushi, which (the repositories, not the extensions) must be added manually.
Do not use the base Mihon app. Use a fork and add the Keyoushi repository using these instructions.
 Suwayomi
A desktop program that downloads manga using Mihon's extensions, and allows you to read it in the browser.
 gallery-dl
A command-line program that allows easily mass-downloading media from many gallery websites, including manga websites.
Maximally braindead step-by-step instructions for Windows users:
1 Download gallery-dl.exe from the Releases page into a folder on your computer
2 Open the folder in explorer
3 Press Ctrl+L, then Ctrl+X in explorer to cut the folder location
4 Press Win+R, type cmd.exe into the Window that opens and press Enter
5 Type in pushd " (with an opening bracket) into the opened command line Window, press Ctrl+V to paste the folder location, close the bracket with another " and press Enter
6 Type in gallery-dl.exe, copy-paste the address of the webpage that contains the images from the web-browser from the browser. and press Enter
It should then download the images.
For more advanced usage see Usage on the original repository.

Remember that comics under 64MB can be posted directly in the thread as CBZ archives, which are just ZIP-archives renamed to have a .CBZ extension.
Tachiyomi and its forks store downloaded comics as .CBZ files in whatever directory you've set as home for them.
gallery-dl can be made to pack downloaded images into .CBZ files using the --cbz option.

This thread should have been made 2000 posts ago, and it's totally on me that it wasn't.

Wanted to say that Nagabe is an easy first pick (source: see picrelated), and link Wizdoms.
But now that MangaDex purged the official translations, he's only available in Russian and Vietnamese on there.
What site can be trusted to serve unshitted originals of Official releases?

Baka updates say's it's "Animal Characteristic/s", not "Anthropomorphic", so I guess this girl is not an actual kemono, just the niggerest cat-eared human in existence.

For the record, you can open a command line on Windows directly on the current folder just by clicking on the address bar (or pressing Ctrl+L) and typing cmd, no need for Win+R nor pushd. Well, at least on Windows 10, I don't know if it still works on Windows 11.

I'm afraid the only place I know for good releases is Nyaa. Alas, it's a torrent site, so you need a torrent client to download from there, unless the uploader added a Mega link too. Also you can't look for author/artist, you have to look for the title directly, for example:

I remember a similar setting in some story, where some black tar progressively replaced all natural water, and it was some sort of evil parasitic mitotic alien semen that turned people into John Carpenter's the things if they touched it, and there was a whole horror point of describing how survivors went crazy from thirst and gave into drinking it.
Either way, blowing up years of water supply is lame and gay, and kittens in Africa could have drunk that.
*My views, however, could be biased against rainbows due to how, while I was a little child, each time there was a rainbow or a firework, my family would forcibly drag me to the window to collectively do the pointing meme at it.

Sounds super familiar, but the closest I can remember is the Iruburu arc in Made in Abyss, so I'm not completely sure if I actually knew of a similar story or I was just thinking of that.
Speaking of MiA, they announced like yesterday that we're getting a movie this year. Instead of more episodes they'll be making movies now.

It's the official comic, but it's a fan translation. Open any page from the official translation and from the version on Mangadex and you'll see the text is not the same. Not to mention, it even has more chapters than the ones officially released in English.

Cute! Here's an automatic translation too.

I thought that with this page you could translate 20 pages a day, but turns out you can only translate 20 pages in total, ever. I could use my VPN to get more pages, but these limits make the translator much less interesting than I originally though, I'll have to install manga-image-translator again.

You reminded me that I still had a copy of manga-image-translator. Yeah, I remember why I stopped using it. Admittedly I'm using a fairly old version, but the results are... bad. The OCR fails too much, the inpainting is even dirtier than the one from the online service I was using, and some texts are super tiny.

The offline models to actually translate the text were just awful. I was going to try the one from Firefox out of curiosity but the python package won't even install because it's missing files, so, welp. I remembered that https://translate.kagi.com/ was pretty good with Japanese though, so I wrote a super dirty hack to translate everything by copying and pasting the text, and I'd say that this translation is much better.

I don't know, maybe some day I'll try updating to a more recent version to see if I get cleaner pages, it's kind of a pain in the ass having to copy and paste everything, but my VPN is running out of IPs to keep using the online translator.

>I don't know, maybe some day I'll try updating to a more recent version
I tried updating, and I can confirm that the recent version produces much better looking pages. Obviously it's still far from perfect, it's all automatic after all, but pages looked cleaner overall, and there weren't tiny texts anymore.

I wasn't a huge fan of some of the internal changes though, lots of new useless dependencies wasting a lot of space, and I didn't like that they had changed the command line options, so I ended up rolling back, but keeping a couple relevant files from the recent version. I'm not sure if the frankenstein version I have now is as good as the latest version, but at least it's much better than what I had before, so whatever.

Anyways, I'm posting the manga again in case anyone wants to keep a copy that looks a bit better. I'm not sure why a few lines were translated differently, some of them arguably worse, but I think it's good enough? I won't post it more times, I swear.

>Nitter only let me go as far as summer 2024
It's not just Nitter, Twitter will only let you see the last 3200 tweets from any user, including retweets and even retweets from defunct accounts. When any user has too many tweets the old ones become virtually inaccessible.
There's a barely functional and extremely slow trick to get old tweets from some users though, I tried it with this one and I managed to recover a lot of tweets, so here you are. Both links are the same file, the Gofile link should be faster, but only lasts 7 days, Fileditch is supposed to last much longer but it's also slower.
https://gofile.io/d/tT5lkA
https://fileditchfiles.me/file.php?f=/b77/rNJVcGSuBXyptgathz.zip

I tried to remove exact reposts, as in, tweets where the images were byte-identical, I only kept the oldest set. I think I didn't remove everything, but at least I'm pretty sure that what I did remove was unnecessary.

This is the artist's weibo, the first chapter is here
https://weibo.com/u/5756866653
I also found a mirror of that chapter here
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/130973459

Looking for the title I found a similar storytime video on Douyin (ie, TikTok) and all the comments were asking where to find the comic. The uploader didn't seem to be the artist, but they said that the chapters were being uploaded as videos to Xiaohongshu (ie, RedNote) and Bilibili to monetize them. I think you need to install an app to use Xiaohongshu, but here's a playlist with the videos on Bilibili
https://space.bilibili.com/12650588/lists/6373701?type=season
I've been unable to find the comic anywhere else, so maybe it has been uploaded like this only.

For the record, the Weibo link has a previous comic from the same author, but it seems to be incomplete, the last chapter on Weibo is chapter 46, but it has 126 chapters according to this
https://ac.qq.com/Comic/comicInfo/id/537649
Here's another site where you can see the chapters that are paywalled on the previous link, if you don't mind a lot of watermarks
https://m.happymh.com/manga/xingzhichuanshuo
Also, according to Wikifur, the same author released two other comics before this one.
