[Hide] (4.4MB, 2533x3116) Rather than having dozens of "found an artist" posts spread all over the board, let's have a dedicated thread for gathering artist info.
Bonus for upcoming or lesser known guys, but any ones you like or have found interesting or think other anons may appreciate are fine.
When making a post in this thread, please:
Put as many names as you know the artist by into the Subject box, separated by a slash (/)
Example: konza/konzaburou/Enigmatic Network/snowatary/konzafox/otona_no_kitsune/kzr/こんざぶろう/紺座/konza/nokoyama/nokoyama_en
The recommended names you should try to include in the order of priority are:
Artist tags that can be used to look the artist up on Danbooru and e621 (note that the artist may have different names, so please try to list both if you can)
Artist names on gallery websites (Pixiv/Nijie/Nico-nico Seiga/Inkbunny/etc.)
Artist handles on social media (X/Pawoo/Baraag/Misskey/etc.)
Name(s) the artist can be found by on kemono.cr
Names listed as "alternative" on the booru wikis
Ctrl-F to see if your artist was already posted before making a post
If you have something to add to a post that already exists, reply to the original post with whatever information you want to add, and put !Info into the subject box.
I'll add your information to the post and delete your post so that it doesn't take up space.
If the artist mainly specializes in a particular kind(s) of kemonos, please note that in the very beginning
Like this: Demographic: kemololi/kyoana
Possible kinds of kemono:
mesukemo - adult girls
kemololi - loli kemonos
osukemo - adult boys
kemoshota - shotas
futakemo - futanari (girls with pee-pees)
kyoana - "four-legged animal" (sentient animals, known as "ferals" among westerners"
yaoi - pee-pee goes into poo-poo (for artists that mostly draw Boys' Love)
yuri - pee-pee grinds against pee-pee (for artists that mostly draw Girls' Love)
(This list is non-exhaustive, so please suggest more topics.)
Danbooru and e621 have artist wikis, where you can search artists both by name and URLs.
https://danbooru.donmai.us/artists
https://e621.net/artists/
If you can find an artist on those, they usually contain all the info you need to make a quality post, and it's better to include them as the first artist link.
Note that they may have tons of dead or inactive links. It's not necessary to repost all links from their wiki entries here, only the ones you consider significant.
If the artist has accounts on microblogging platforms, please list them right after the booru wiki links.
This includes X (Twitter), Bluesky, Pawoo, Baraag, Misskey, Fedibird, and any other similar services.
Due to such platforms having atrocious discoverability, links to them are very valuable, especially for artists that post mostly or entirely on there.
Due to X requiring users to create an account to view "sensitive" works and in general being terrible to browse, instead of linking artists directly on X, it's recommended to link them on Nitter through twiiit.
This way, a link https://x.com/nokoyama_en will become https://twiit.com/nokoyama_en
Twiiit redirects to a random nitter instance. List of currently alive instances is available at https://status.d420.de/
Next item to list are the artist accounts on gallery websites
This includes Pixiv.net, Nijie.info, seiga.nicovideo.jp, and any other websites dedicated to posting artworks as opposed to general microblogging.
Due to such websites usually having better dicoverability, links to them are less valuable than blogging services. However, if the same image is posted on both a blogging and a gallery website, the gallery website will almost always have a better quality version.
For the same reason why it's better to link to Nitter rather than X, it's better to link to Pixiv frontends rather than Pixiv itself. Sadly, those keep dying and being born all the time, and, unlike twiiit, there is no unified service to link to all of them. The current best pixiv frontend is pixivfe.ducks party.
The lists of currently available pixiv frontends are:
PixivFE: https://pixivfe-docs.pages.dev/instance-list/
VixiPy: https://maid.zone/vixipy/instances.html
LiteXiv: https://codeberg.org/LiteXiv/LiteXiv#instances
Pixiv Viewer: https://pixiv.pictures/
(Note how some instances block R-18. Those should be avoided.)
For example, https://pixiv.net/en/users/3492775 or http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=3492775 becomes https://pixivfe.ducks.party/users/3492775
Kemono.cr and Nekohouse.su are websites for scraping paywalled content.
Those typically have the best available quality images.
Fanbox accounts are linked to pixiv accounts, so if you know an artist's pixiv, you can quickly check if he has an imported fanbox:
https://pixiv.net/en/users/3492775 → https://kemono.cr/fanbox/user/3492775
https://pixiv.net/en/users/1549213 → https://nekohouse.su/fanbox/user/1549213
You can also search artists by name at https://kemono.cr/artists and https://nekohouse.su/artists in case they have fantia but no fanbox, or have fanbox on a separate account.
Kemono.cr has a page linking all accounts for the same artist, so it's enough to only list one of them.
There are also userscripts for getting redirected to kemono and nekohouse from the original pages:
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/483259-kemono-browser
https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/411018-viewonyp
In your post, please include 5 images that you feel best represent a sampling of the artist's work.
5 images should be enough to give an idea of the artist, but if you feel like it isn't, you can include a CBZ archive with however many images as the list file of the post.
Please, don't (intentionally) create more than one post per artist.
Feel free to include a short description or anything else you'd like to mention regarding the artist at the end, though that's not mandatory.
Please, don't feel obliged to investigate the artist's entire biography in one sitting.
It's okay to make an initial post with only the most basic information and expand upon it in multiple goes, or rely on other users to help complete the rest of the information.
If you have a suggestion on what else can be mentioned in the OP, please reply to it and voice them.
